New Delhi: The International Cricket Council women’s world cup trophy was held at Mumbai airport on Monday by custom officials. The trophy replica, for promotional purposes, arrived at Monday evening in a Jet Airways flight from Dubai in a baggage section which was cited as one of the reasons for the action according to a report. “Goods like trophies should come via cargo or courier. They can’t come in the baggage section,” a senior custom officer was quoted as saying by DNA. The custom officers said that once they receive documents regarding approval of the central government, the trophy would be released. On the other hand ICC has said that the trophy had all the documents with it and despite that it was detained by the custom officials. Mumbai is set to host the ICC Women’s World Cup tournament in January 2013 with matches scheduled to be played across five venues.
