Chennai: Mithali Raj was on Thursday named captain of India Blue while India captain Jhulan Goswami and Reema Malhotra will lead India Green and India Red respectively in the Challenger Trophy women’s cricket tournament, to be held in Vishakapatnam from Decmber 9-12.
The cricket board’s women selection committee picked up 12-member squads for all the three teams after a meeting here on Thursday, BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement.
Apart from Mithali, Indian Blue team will also have national team players in wicket-keeper Sulakshana Naik, Rumeli Dhar and Harmanpreet Kaur.
The notable names in India Red team are Reema, Poonam Raut, Amita Sharma, Jaya Sharma among others.
Apart from lanky pacer Goswamy, India Green team consists of Priyanka Roy, Diana David, wicket-keeper Anagha Deshpande among others.
India Blue: Mithali Raj (captain), Sulakshana Naik (wk), Shweta Jadhav, Shilpa Gupta, Rumeli Dhar, Harmanpreet Kaur, Archana Dass, Ekta Bisht, Karuna Jain, Shubha Laxmi, Nishu Chowdhury, Mona Meshram.
India Red: Reema Malhotra (captain), Poonam Raut, Neha Tanwar, Snehal Pradhan, Amita Sharma, Lalita Sharma, Jaya Sharma, Sheral Rozario, Gouhar Sultana, Samantha Lobbato (wk), Veda Krishnamurthy, Sunetra Paranjpe.
India Green: Jhulan Goswami (captain), Anagha Deshpande (wk), Priyanka Roy, Sonia Dabir, N Niranjana, Diana David, Latika Kumari, MD Thirushkamini, Priti Dimri, Shashi Malik, Kadambini Mohakud, Varsha Chowdhari.
