New Delhi: Former Indian skipper and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is quite delighted with the fact that explosive batsman Yuvraj Singh and fast bowler Ashish Nehra have made a comeback in the national team for the upcoming tour of Australia.
"I am happy that both are back… They deserve it and this is the result of their hard work… I wish them and the team all the success in Australia," Tendulkar told The Telegraph.
These two veteran cricketers from Delhi and Punjab managed to regain the faith of national selectors, who picking them in the T20 squad for the crucial overseas tour.
It would be a golden opportunity for Yuvraj, 34, Nehra, 36, to prove a point ahead of the ICC World T20, scheduled to take place in India next year.
"Yuvi is special and captain is happy to have him back. We can't guarantee him place but chance to perform will be given. Nehra is a consistent performer in T20 format. He will be useful in the team. We will need experienced players in the T20 WC”, said Sandeep Patil, after announcing the ODI and T20 squads for Australia tour.
