New Delhi: Indian star Yuvraj Singh on Friday became the fourth player to opt out of the West Indies ODI series. According to media reports, the left-hander has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCCI) his unwillingness to go to the Windies tour due to illness.

Earlier, opener Gautam Gambhir was ruled out of the WI tour owing to a shoulder injury. This pushed Raina to the captain’s seat with Virat Kohli as the vice-captain.

Rumour has it that Yuvraj’s unwillingness to play under Suresh Raina as captain was the reason behind the withdrawal. He was offered the vice captain’s post but it was duly declined by him.

Yuvraj now adds to the growing list of injured players for the ODI series in the West Indies, which is already filled with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Ashish Nehra, Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Zaheer Khan.
