New Delhi: Dashing middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh is likely to miss the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League as he may have to undergo a surgery to completely remove the tumour from his left lung, reports said on Sunday.
However, Yuvraj had earlier claimed that he is fully fit to participate in the tri-series in Australia.
"I have completely recovered and have been training for the last two weeks. There is absolutely no problem with my fitness," Yuvraj Singh had said.
India are also scheduled to play two T20 internationals against Australia before the triangular one-day series. Sri Lanka will be the third team in tri-series, starting in February at Melbourne.
Yuvraj Singh, who was Player of the Tournament in 2011 World Cup, has not played an ODI match since the World Cup triumph.
