Zaheer to miss warm-up tie against NZ

Chennai: India’s ace paceman Zaheer Khan, who sat out of the first World Cup warm-up game against Australia, is likely to miss the next game against New Zealand on Wednesday, sources have revealed.

India will take on New Zealand on Wednesday in their final warm-up game before the start of the 2011 cricket World Cup at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk.

The southpaw had also missed the last day of India’s preparatory camp for the World Cup in Bangalore.

However, the move is being seen as just a precautionary measure and the speedster in certain to play the country’s first game of the World Cup against Bangladesh at Dhaka on the 19th.

Other pace bowlers in India’s 15-member squad for the World Cup include Ashish Nehra, S Sreesanth and Munaf Patel.
