Zardari likely to sack PCB chief Ejaz Butt

Islamabad: Pakistan President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) patron Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly decided to sack PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt.

Butt’s contract will expire in October. According to The Nation, the PCB has started to look for suitable candidates for the post.

It has also been reported that former PCB CEO Arif Ali Khan Abbasi and former PCB ad-hoc committee chairman Dr. Zafar Altaf are front runners for the post.

Abbasi was PCB CEO from January 1994 to May 1996. Dr. Altaf was the PCB ad-hoc committee chairman between October and December 1999.

Butt was appointed PCB chairman in October 2008 for a period of two years, which was later extended for a year in 2010.
