`Baffled` Liverpool to tell Suarez to stop Madrid `pronouncements` and make transfer request

London: Fed up with their controversial striker Luis Suarez`s almost daily public pronouncements on his future, Liverpool is reportedly set to lay down the law and demand that Suarez put in an official transfer request if he remains determined to leave for Real Madrid.

The Uruguay international, currently playing in the Confederations Cup in Brazil, has turned what promises to be this summer`s biggest transfer saga into a near farce by offering regular, unsubtle, hints that he is desperate to move to Madrid.

Suarez`s latest outburst in which he suggested that he has lacked backing in England, and he would `give his heart and soul` to Real, was the last straw for Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who will now be ready to deliver an ultimatum that the situation be sorted quickly.

Although the Anfield giants does not want Suarez to leave, but they are powerless to prevent him from triggering the clause in his contract, under which Suarez is allowed to leave if an offer exceeding 40 million pounds is made, a fact which makes all of his many and varied outbursts redundant.

However, if the player leaves the club then he will have to forfeit any cut of the transfer fee, although it added that no club has expressed any interest in the player so far, let alone make formal offers.

Suarez will have to ask for a move, and will also need to sort his future before the club jet off to Asia and Australia in the middle of next month for a pre-season tour.

Real have yet to even make an enquiry, and Suarez`s continuing outbursts strongly suggest they are trying to force the price down by encouraging the player to agitate for a move and make it impossible for him to stay at Anfield.
