`Bold` Spurs boss Villas-Boas `sensationally` rules club out of PL title race
London: Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has sensationally declared his club out of this season`s Premier League title race after just three months of the campaign.
According to a website, Spurs currently sit seventh in the table, but remain just five points adrift of pacesetters Arsenal.
However, in a bold move which will either take the pressure off his players or anger the White Hart Lane faithful, Villas-Boas insists Spurs are not in the running for top spot, the report said.
The Portuguese said that the title is not for Tottenham, so they are pretty comfortable, adding that they had a minimum objective of Champions League qualification and they are one point from fourth place.
He further added that there are teams that are more experienced than them in coming back strongly in the form of Manchester City and Manchester United.
Tottenham, who have not won in the Premier League in a month, travel to eighth-placed Manchester City on Sunday with the hosts looking to overhaul Spurs and potentially jump into the top four, the report added.
