Adebayor skeptical of Manchester City`s chances of winning EPL
London: Striker Emmanuel Adebayor isn`t convinced of Manchester City`s title credentials and has also claimed that Tottenham Hotspurs are still in the title race.
Adebayor who was loaned out to Spurs for a season after he didn`t find favor with City`s coach, believes that in spite of being at the top of table at Christmas, City still has a long way to go.
City would be losing out two of their first team members in Yaya Toure and Kala Toure to the African Nations Cup in the second half of the season, The Telegraph reports.
Adebayor believes that if they get two or three major players injured during that time then it can be problematic for City.
"They have Kolo and Yaya Touré going to the African Cup of Nations, so we have to see how they cope. They have got a great team and great spirit and are playing great football. But if they get a couple of injuries as well, it could be difficult", said Adebayor.
He also believes that there is lots of time still left in title race and despite City being at top for the moment, they still have to play all the top clubs again.
"Man City are top at the moment, but they have to play all the big clubs. We are only halfway through. Can they keep playing the way they are playing until the end of the season? We will have to wait and see", said Adebayor.
He also considers Spurs as a contender for title. "Of course Tottenham are still in the race," he said ahead of Tuesday`s visit to Norwich City.
Adebayor has been a massive signing for Spurs this season and has helped them make a good start to the season.
