London: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is confident that they have the team to win the Premier League again this season, and believes his team-mates proved it with their Community Shield win over Chelsea on Sunday.
Aguero’s late winner against QPR on the last day of the season in May meant City nicked the title off Manchester United in dramatic fashion.
Wayne Rooney, who hit 35 domestic goals last season, warned City last week that the champs will be up there to be shot at when the season kicks off this weekend.
But Aguero, who banged in 30 goals in a brilliant first season, believes his teammates are up for the challenge again.
“We’ve made a nice start and this week we have our first game. We’ve started off a step above the others and I hope to God we can make it stay like that. We have a phenomenal team and we are really starting to understand each other well,”
“We’ll try to start like last season and do things well. I pray we can do it again. I’m not going to say it’s going to be easy but we have the team to do it,” he added.
