London: French footballer Nicolas Anelka is reportedly all set to quit Chelsea at the end of the season.
According to a leading daily, he will join the gold rush to the United Arab Emirates when his contract expires in eight months.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas admitted last night that 32-year-old Anelka has refused to sign a new deal.
“He has a decision to make but I don’t think he is willing to continue here. Nico has indicated to me he might go. We will make efforts to renew his contract but I think that might not be his intention,” Villas-Boas said.
He added that the emergence of Daniel Sturridge and the 20 million pounds signing of Romelu Lukaku have played a part in Anelka’s decision. Chelsea are also stepping up efforts to keep Didier Drogba, who is being eyed by PSG and Real Mallorca.
