Are Manchester United going to slash £120m for Gareth Bale?

New Delhi: Spanish newspapers are carrying the news that English giants Manchester United are leading the race for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. Reports suggest that United are willing to splash as much as £120m for the Welshman in order to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer of 2015.

Louis van Gaal wants a proven winger and is interested in getting the world's costliest player. Bale had moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a world record of £85m as he ditched United in favour of playing for his dream club.

The United section believe that they could get Bale as rumours state that the 25-year-old is unhappy at Real despite their dream run and good performances. Bale has scored 33 goals for Real in 66 matches across all competitions in his time at the club so far.

The former Spurs man has also won four trophies with the Los Blancos and has repeatedly suggested that he is really happy at the club. Rumours also ran for a moment that Real are planning to use the hefty sum for Bale's move to United on several players whom they feel could help them.

According to reports in Spanish newspapers, Bale isn't enjoying life in Spain and he could be tempted to join United.

Real over the the last two seasons have sold their consistent performers in Mesut Ozil and Angel di Maria and got a lot of money in return. But will the same thing happen to Bale?

Will Manchester United really shell that much money when they already have Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj and Antonio Valencia in their ranks?

Bale is a world class player and Louis van Gaal could still go for the Welshman in order to build his set of 'Galactico's'. But the question is will Bale join United and leave his dream club?
