Arsenal boss Wenger desperate to keep captain Van Persie at all ‘costs’

London: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said the club needs to keep hold of their talismanic captain Robin Van Persie at any cost, and the Frenchman also urged the club to break the bank to ensure the Dutch striker stays with them.

“We need to keep Robin van Persie at all costs because we depend on him offensively,” a newspaper quoted Wenger, as saying.

Wenger expressed hope that Van Persie would end his career with Arsenal.

“I’ve always supported him, even in the hardest of times. Now I hope he’ll end his career at Arsenal,” Wenger said.
