Manchester: Wayne Rooney has jumped in defence of his United teammate Ashley Young who has come under severe criticism following his recent two dives against QPR and Aston Villa.
The striker blamed the scrutiny over Young being a United player and claiming whatever they (Man U players) do draws more media attention than any other club.
"It`s been exaggerated because Ashley is a United player,” he told MUTV.
"Whatever happens at our club gets more press than it would if it were another player at another team. At times you are trying to get out of the way of being kicked and people think you have dived,” he added.
"The game is so quick these days it`s difficult for the referee to get some of those decisions right."
