New Delhi: Inter Milan forward Lukas Podolski stated on Friday that he supports Bayern Munich and fellow Germany national teammate Manuel Neuer for the Ballon d'Or award. The award ceremony will take place on 12th January 2015.
Neuer is pitted against Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Podolski who joined Serie A side Inter Milan from Arsenal this month on a six-month loan deal, cited that what more Neuer needs to do in order to win. He expressed his views on social micro-blogging site, Twitter.

Earlier on Thursday, Manuel Neuer was named as the 'World's Best Goalkeeper' for a second year in a row by the International Football Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS). The Ballon d'Or nominee Neuer conceded a mere 40 goals in 62 games in 2014 and fought off the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas to get selected.
The German World Cup winner had also collected the 'Golden Glove' following his terrific performances at the Brazil-based tournament in 2014. Known for his brilliant goalkeeping and overall attributes, 28-year-old Neuer is an underdog for the FIFA Ballon d'Or and also find himself on the shortlist for the goalkeeper's position at the FIFPro World XI.
Recently, the likes of Diego Maradona and Alessandro Del Piero have expressed their thoughts on Neuer whom they feel should win the prestigious award.
