At Ballon d`Or awards night in Zurich, which was held on Monday, one of the biggest football clubs in the world -- Real Madrid -- came out as real winners, with four of its players receiving awards in the gala event.

New Delhi: At Ballon d`Or awards night in Zurich, which was held on Monday, one of the biggest football clubs in the world -- Real Madrid -- came out as real winners, with four of its players receiving awards in the gala event.

The biggest award of the night – FIFA Ballon d'Or -- was received by their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal captain won the award, for the second consecutive time, beating Barcelona's striker Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. It's the third time the 29-year-old was awarded as the Best Footballer of the Year.

James Rodriguez was declared the winner of FIFA Puskas Award for Goal of the Year. Rodriguez, joined Real immediately from French side AS Monaco after his successful World Cup debut in Brazil last year. The Colombian international was declared the winner from a three-strong shortlist, including Ireland woman international Stephanie Roche and Dutch striker Robin van Persie.

Real's midfielder Toni Kroos and defender Sergio Ramos also made it into FIFA's World Team of the Year, along with Ronaldo.

European champions Real Madrid posted a photo of the team's winners of the night through their official Twitter account.
