Bayern defender Badstuber trains after lengthy absence

Berlin: Bayern Munich`s German international defender Holger Badstuber returned to training on Thursday after being sidelined with a serious right knee injury since December 2012.

Badstuber, 25, was welcomed back with warm applause by his teammates before going through his paces in a 45-minute session.

"It was a great moment, a super day," Badstuber told the official Bayern website.

Badstuber had trained with the team in April 2013 but was forced to abandon his return when he suffered more pain in his knee.
