Bayern Munich maintain Bundesliga lead

Berlin: Bayern Munich maintained its Bundesliga lead, winning 3-0 at home against Bayer on goals by Thomas Mueller in the fifth minute, Daniel van Buyten in the 19th and Arjen Robben in the 90th.

Bayern Munich (6-1) has outscored opponents 21-1 in the league and holds a two-point lead over Borussia Moenchengladbach (5-1-1), which beat Nuremberg 1-0 on Filip Daems`s 76th-minute penalty kick.

Lukasz Piszczek scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund (3-1-1) in the 90th minute to rally the defending Bundesliga champion to a 2-1 victory at Mainz (2-4-1), which went ahead on Nicolai Mueller`s goal in the 33rd.

Schalke won its first game since the sudden departure of coach Ralf Rangnick by beating Freiburg 4-2. Wolfsburg beat Kaiserslautern 1-0 despite being down to 10 men and promoted Augsburg is still winless after drawing 0-0 at home with Hannover.
