London: England and Manchester United football star Wayne Rooney has credited a change in the style of play for him enjoying the best start to a Premier League season.
Rooney has scored ten goals for his national and club teams so far.
“We`ve slightly changed our style of play and I`m so lucky because it`s mostly benefited me. It`s definitely the best start to a season I`ve ever made goal scoring wise,” Rooney told a leading daily.
“I`ve never scored two hat-tricks in a row so I`m really enjoying it and, hopefully, it will continue. I think the best goal so far was my last against Bolton. It was a great cutback by Nani and a nice finish. It`s something we have been working on in training and it was great to see it come off,” he adds.
When asked about prospects for a third hat trick, Rooney says: “That would be unbelievable but I can`t afford to think about that.”
Rooney was speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash against Chelsea.
Describing it as a tough game, he says both sides will be going eyeball to eyeball and that he would like nothing better than to win against the Blues.
He says that Chelsea is probably the only football side that has challenged Manchester United hard for the title for the past eight years and won it thrice.
He believes that Chelsea will put up a formidable challenge this time as well.
