Chonburi FC from Thailand arrives for AFC Cup campaign

Kolkata: Chonburi FC from Thailand arrived
here today to take on Federation Cup Champions East Bengal in
their first round robin league group "H" match of the AFC
Cup football championship to be played at Yuba Bharati
Krirangan here on Wednesday.

Chonburi FC is one of the top soccer outfits in Thailand,
who won the senior division league title there during 2007.
They have played in this tournament in 2004, 2005, 2008 and
2010 and also reached the quarter-final stage of the meet
during their inaugural campaign.

A spokesman of East Bengal informed that the visitors
have as many as seven national players in their squad beside
three foreign recruits -- one each from Brazil, Serbia and

Chonburi FC players had a light workout today at East
Bengal ground and will have a feel of Yuba Bharati Kriranbgan

The two other teams in this group are South China FC from
Hong Kong and Persipura Jayapura from Indonesia.
