Kolkata: Former India coach Subhash Bhowmick and Brazilian Carlos Alberto Perreira are in the running as possible replacements of Churchill Brothers` Portugese coach Manuel Gomes.

According to sources, the Churchill management is looking at Bhowmick as the technical director and Perreira as the coach.

"Team boss Churchill Alemao called up yesterday and I am going there tomorrow for discussions."

Bhowmick has had a very successful stint with East Bengal during the 2003-04 season when they won the ASEAN Cup as well as the I-League (NFL then) coach, but his later stints with Mohammedan Sporting, Salgaocar and Mohun Bagan didn`t produce favourable results.

Perreira who last coached Kolkata`s premier division club Southern Samity is also going to meet the Churchill bosses on Wednesday.

The Goan heavyweights following their loss to Mumbai FC (1-2) and draw against bottom-placed HAL (1-1) have slipped to sixth in the I League standings.

I was very emotional on the podium and I broke down into tears because this was my first Asian Games after missing the two previous Asian Games, partly because of a doping allegation in 2006 when I was innocent.
