Manchester: Manchester City thrashed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday to move five points clear of their leading Premier League rivals.
Mario Balotelli scored twice as City ended United`s 37-match unbeaten run at home in all competitions.
Sergio Aguero added a third for the visitors in their biggest victory at Old Trafford since winning 6-1 in January 1926.
David Silva scored a late goal, along with two for Edin Dzeko.
Jonny Evans, the United central defender who was at fault for Balotelli`s opening goal, was shown a straight red card in the 46th minute for a foul on the Italian forward.
