Real Madrid on Sunday confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will sign a new contract tomorrow, thus keeping the Portuguese superstar for a foreseeable future in the Spanish capital.
The reigning European champions, in all likelihood, will sign a five-year contract on Monday, which will keep him at Santiago Bernabeu until 2021.
"The official event for the renewal of Cristiano Ronaldo`s contract will take place tomorrow, Monday 7 November at 1:30pm in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium," Madrid said in a statement.
"The Portuguese forward will extend his contract until 30 June 2021 at the event attended by club president Florentino Perez and the player himself," it added.
Three-time World Player of the Year arrived in Madrid from Manchester United for a then world record fee in 2009. And he has since one La Liga and two UEFA Champions League titles.
The 31-year-old also won two Copa del Rey titles with Real Madrid.
No details of his contract have been released by the club, but it's expected to be better than Gareth Bale's £150m deal. Bale renewed his Madrid contract for another six-years last month, for the said sum to become the club's best-paid player.
Both the superstars have been shortlisted in the 23-man Best Fifa Men's Player 2016 award.
