Madrid: Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal will miss out on his first competitive international for Spain as they open their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against Macedonia on Monday due to a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old left La Roja`s camp in Valencia on Monday morning and is also now a serious doubt for Real`s Madrid derby against La Liga champions Atletico on Saturday.

"Dani Carvajal left the Spanish national team`s training camp due to an injury in his left hamstring," said a statement on the Spanish national team`s website.

Carvajal had impressed on his international debut despite Spain`s 1-0 defeat to France last week.

However, his place in the side is now likely to be taken by Chelsea`s Cesar Azpilicueta with Barcelona`s Jordi Alba returning at left-back.
