Madrid: Spain`s football coach Vicente del Bosque has hinted at carrying uncapped players in the squad to the Euro 2012 Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
While del Bosque will not confirm his final 23-man squad for the Championships until the final of the Copa del Rey between Athletic Club Bilbao and FC Barcelona, who between them can expect to form around half of the squad. He, however, has named a preliminary squad containing several players who are yet to represent the country.
Atletico Madrid`s Europa League winning campaign has given a chance to fullback Juanfran Torres, central defender Alvaro Dominguez and forward Adrian Lopez, Xinhua reported.
Adrian especially could make the final cut should Barcelona`s David Villa fail to fully recover from his broken leg.
Del Bosque has also named Betis midfielder Benat Etxebarria, who has had an excellent season and who looks like being a transfer target for Athletic Club Bilbao over the summer.
Meanwhile Javi Garcia, a former Real Madrid youth team player, who can perform in midfield or in central defence has been named. The fact that he plays for Portuguese side, Benfica means that Del Bosque is not just following the Spanish league.
Two other players receive some compensation for disappointments they suffered at the weekend with Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, who side saw how the Premier League title escaped them at the last gasp of the campaign and Villarreal midfielder, Bruna Soriano, whose side were relegated due to a late Atletico Madrid goal, have also been named in the side.
Several of these players will not make the final squad May 27, when players such as Xavi Hernandez, Fernando Llorente, Victor Valdes and Javi Martinez will all get a call up.
Euro 2012 will played from June 8 to July 1.
