Dempo beat Mohun Bagan 4-1 in I-League

Dempo continued their unbeaten run in the second leg when they subdued Mohun Bagan with a resounding 4-1 win in a 18th round I-League match at the Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

resounding 4-1 win in a 18th round I-League match at the Nehru Stadium here on Friday. Dempo, who outplayed Bagan in the second half after stiff resistance in the first, scored through Climax Lawerence (26th), Clifford Miranda (30th, 74th) and Ranty Martins(46th). Bagan coach Subhash Bhowmick brought in his trump card Jose Barreto midway into the second half but nothing worked for the visitors as they pulled one back in the closing stage with a strike from Subair Muritala Ali in the 89th minute. Thus, Dempo, who won five matches on the trot, took their tally to 34 points from 17 matches, and are placed fourth, while Bagan remained?on sixth position with 25 points from 18 matches. PTI
