Kolkata: Desperate for a win, Mohun Bagan
will look to reinvent themselves under newly appointed
technical director Subhas Bhowmick when they face Dempo in a
fourth round I-League match, at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan
here on Thursday.
The city giant`s shaky start -- one draw and back-to-back
reverses -- were followed by Stanly Rozario`s resignation.
The task will be cut out for Bhowmick who would look to
bring the best out of a side struggling with injury to Edeh
Chidi. Over dependence on veteran Jose Ramirez Barreto is also
not helping their cause.
Bagan will have the psychological advantage of beating
Dempo in the Federation Cup semi-finals and the fact
that this will be the reigning I-League champions` first away
match will also play on Dempo`s mind.
"I want Barreto to play freely, want to see his natural
flair like the way Messi does for Barcelona. The point
is to enable them play their natural game," Bhowmick said.
Defence still remains a worry for the green-and-maroon
brigade that lost thrice to bitter rivals East Bengal this
season. Bagan are now likely to rejig their backline with
Dhanrajan, Karan Atwal in left and right flanks while using
Kinshuk Debnath and Sheikh Azim as stoppers.
Armando Colaco`s boys, however, are not taking it easy
against their struggling opponents.
"It will be tough beating them at home. It`s our first
away match and we will have to be watchful. But this is not
going to be a (Federation Cup) revenge match," Colaco said.
Joachim Abranches (hamstring injury) is a doubtful
starter for tomorrow, though, Roberto Silva`s (Beto) inclusion
will certainly bolster the side.
Star forward Ranty Martins will also have a crucial role
to play along with Ogba Kalu Nnanna.
Dempo have four points from three matches, while Bagan
