Chelsea FC should stick with Jose Mourinho in time of crisis

New Delhi: Premier League defending champions Chelsea find themselves in an unfamiliar position in the league table as Leicester City piled up more misery for Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea encountered their ninth loss of the season in 16 games to stay a point above the relegation zone. A new wave of change in performances were expected to come, but as weeks pass by Chelsea's rise from the drought has failed simultaneously.

Monday's 1-2 loss against Leicester, was another scathing blow to the Blues whose expectations from the season is lowering day by day. With a top four finish being questionable, Mourinho needs to galvanize his troops and get something from this stuttering campaign. The Blues were looking for a top four finish weeks earlier but two losses on the trot has shifted the realism to a rather top half end.

Jose Mourinho needs time after having encountered this low phase in his managerial career for the first ever time. Being a winner all his life, Jose knows he has to take Chelsea out from the slump and rightly so he is the person who can do it.

Chelsea management needs to stick by the Portuguese in this hard time and believe in him. The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss propelled Chelsea to the EPL title last season after coming to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.

Pressure from the media too has gone up as the manager has consistently insisted that he wants to stay at the club.

Chelsea's form in the Champions League have been better after they topped their group and will now face French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16. It is difficult to know what Mr. Roman Abramovich is thinking at the moment given he has sacked a lot of managers in the last decade.

Reports suggest he is looking at everything closely but is reluctant to sack the Special One who is also dearly loved by the fans.

Chelsea have the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League to salvage something out of the season.

Leicester's pace, directness and form at the moment is too good for any side in the League and no wonder they are topping the table at the moment. Chelsea's defence has been a shadow of their usual self of last season and credit must also be given to Leicester duo of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez who were involved in sinking the visitors.

With the busy festive period coming next, Chelsea knows they have to get their training methods come out right on the pitch and get back to winning ways before its too late.

Mourinho will want his players to pay heed to his methods after claiming on Monday that he feels his work has been betrayed by the players.
