Rahman arrives from last season's Bundesliga surprise package for an initial £14million, with over £6million in further potential bonus payments - depending on how many times he plays for his new club.
The 21-year-old switched clubs in a £14million deal, which also involves an additional £6million in potential bonus payments depending on the number of appearances made by Rahman for his new employers.
Rahman will have to compete with Cesar Azpilicueta for a place on the left of Chelsea's backline.
Rahman signed for Augsburg from Greuther Fürth in August 2014. He made 31 appearances for the Bundesliga club.
