London: Manchester City captainVincent Kompany has urged his side to win the ongoing Champions League if they want to be recognized as a major club.
If Manuel Pellegrini's side wins their upcoming match, they will make it to the last 16 in the ongoing league.
Kompany also criticised UEFA's decision to open disciplinary proceedings against City after fans' booed the Champions League anthem, the Mirror reported.
The incident took place when City claimed a 2-1 triumph over the Sevilla at Emirates Stadium.
Describing the investigation as a 'joke', the defender said that there have been instances of racial abuse and they have had to put up with it.
City is currently at the second place in Group D in standings, having two wins from the three games which they have played.
They will again lock horns with Sevilla on November 4.
