New Delhi: Pep Guardiola gatecrashed Britain's famed transfer deadline day on Monday after being announced as the next Manchester City boss.

The Bayern Munich manager will take charge when current City manager Manuel Pellegrini exits on June 30.

By signing the Spaniard, the Manchester club wants to realize its long standing dream of winning the Champions League.

Pep's record as manager at in Barcelona and Munich is well documented.

But here are some other interesting nuggets of information fans might not be aware of about one of football management's biggest personalities.

1) After ending his playing career in Europe, the former Barcelona skipper represented Al Ahly of Qatar and Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa where he finally quit the game.

2) Pep does no one-on-one interviews. He only addresses press conferences.

3) As a young ball boy, he was refused an autograph by Michel Platini.

4) The home ground of CF Santpedor, a club in Pep's home town, was named Camp Municipal Josep Guardiola in honor of his achievements.

5) The 45-year-old loves art. After stepping down as Barcelona boss, he spent much of his time at art galleries in New York.

6) He is a keen golfer as well. Pep was in attendance at the 2012 'Miracle in Medinah' after being invited to the event by Jose Maria Olazabal, Europe's Ryder Cup captain.

7) Pep's romance with wife Cristian Serra blossomed at her family's clothes shop in Manresa.
