New Delhi: Chelsea skipper John Terry found some support from former England player Robbie Savage who feels the veteran defender should be awarded with a new deal.
Speaking to NDTV, Savage said that, “ John Terry should be given a new deal at Chelsea.”
Terry recently stated that there is no dialogue between the Chelsea board and him regarding a contract. Terry has been a Chelsea player all his life and recieved a mammoth support from the fans in the recent 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Terry has been in good form and the veteran skipper is expected to leave the Blues at the end of the season unless the club hands him a contract extension for a year.
Savage is in the capital as part of the global commitment to support football amongst the youth. He is here alongside former England and Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand, with The Supporters Club, BT s charitable initiative, and engaged in multiple activities involving children including training sessions and interactive events.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Leicester City who are flying high was praised by Savage.
Savage stated that the Foxes have a great work ethic.
“Leicester City FC have had an incredible seasons. They have a great work ethic.”
