New Delhi: West Ham United forward Diafra Sakho has been arrested on suspicion of domestic assault on Thursday, according to reports.
British press report that police held the 25-year-old striker on suspicion of attacking a girlfriend in East London.
"Officers from Tower Hamlets have arrested a man on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage and malicious communication," a report quoted a Scotland Yard spokesman as saying.
"The 25-year-old was arrested on Thursday 6 August at an address in Emerson Park, Hornchurch. He was taken to an east London police station and has been bailed to a date in late September," the report continued.
Sakho arrived in Boleyn Ground in 2004 from French club FC Metz. And has since scored 10 goals for the English Premier League club in 24 league appearances.
