London: Yaya Toure`s first goal in Manchester City`s 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday has been reattributed to his team-mate David Silva, the Premier League announced on Thursday.

Toure took a shot at goal in the ninth minute of the game at The Hawthorns and the ball flicked off Silva before going between defender Craig Dawson`s legs and trundling over the line.

"@MCFC`s 1st goal against West Brom was in fact a @21LVA goal and has not been credited to @YayaToure," the Premier League said in a statement on Twitter.

Toure added a second goal in the 24th minute and captain Vincent Kompany made it 3-0 with a header just before the hour to take Manuel Pellegrini`s side to the top of the fledgling standings.
