Half time at Anfield, and the Premier League trophy should stay in Manchester as things stand. Yes, the blue half of Manchester. Sturridge's brutal miss was the only clear scoring opportunity for Liverpool. It has been a cagey affair so far with the ball mostly stuck in the midfield. Liverpool need to come out with a positive frame of mind, which may not be easy considering City are winning easily at Eithad. However, stranger things have happened on the last day of the Premier League. 45+3' That is the end of the first half. That's Skrtel's 4th own goal in this season. 18' Long distance effort from Glenn Johnson is met with easily by the defender. 16' Sterling powerful shot is off the mark. The best team in the land will be crowned today. Liverpool fans are hoping for a favour from the Hammers today. If Liverpool beat Newcastle and West Ham shock City at the Etihad, the scousers will be crowned champions for the first time since the inception of league in 1992. The season has turned on its head for Liverpool after dropping points against Chelsea and Crystal Palace. From front runners, now they no longer control their fate. It is City who will have the final say on the destination of the beautiful Premier League trophy. Of course unless Big Sam and his West Ham team have other plans. Liverpool are two points and 13 in goal difference behind City. After winning 11 successive matches, Liverpool were firm favorites to win the league and hand Steven Gerrard a much deserved opportunity to win his first winners medal. However, if things don`t go as per plan, Liverpool will take positives from a second place finish, which is an improvement from their woeful seventh place finish last year. Alan Pardew on the other hand was handed a seven-year deal last year. Pardew had to guarantee a top 10 finish, which he has done. But the fans seem to have lost faith in the manager and have repeatedly called for Pardew`s head in the last few months. The St. James` Park faithful have been left disappointed with club earning just 16 points in 2014 from their 18 games. Newcastle have nothing to play for especially since they have performed far better during this campaign than previous one. Liverpool are almost certain to beat them, which is why all scousers will have their attention set on the events at the Etihad. It is West Ham who will be kingmakers this season is what every Liverpool fans is hoping for.
