New Delhi: English Premier League giant Manchester United have become the first professional sports team to be valued in excess of USD 3 billion.
According to a report in the Forbes Magazine, Manchester United are worth USD 3.3 billion that is a result of a recent surge in the clubs’ shares after a poor start when they were offered on the New York Stock Exchange in August last year.
The runner-up of the 2011-12 EPL season have beaten National Football League`s Dallas Cowboys for the first spot. The Cowboys, ranked second in the list, are worth USD 2.1 billon.
The club is owned by the American Glazer family.
