Manchester United need to improve in every department, says Moyes
London: David Moyes admits Manchester United were lacklustre in all areas against West Brom and has urged his players to improve ahead of their Champions League tie away to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

The Premier League champions slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Steve Clarke`s men at Old Trafford on Saturday and currently sit 12th in the Premier League after recording seven points from six games.

Moyes says he was unhappy with the performance level from the majority of his players against West Brom and is concerned that the two goals scored in their last three matches have been via a free kick from Wayne Rooney.

"There were lots of things that disappointed me," the United manager told reporters.

"I don’t think the midfield was just the one department where you’d say we were lacking. I think it would be unfair to say it was any [specific area].

"It was the whole thing, we were lacklustre in nearly all the areas.

"So we’ve got to try and work on it and improve. We’ve just not played that well. We should be scoring more from open play.

"What surprised me is that I felt, with the amount of possession we had in the first half, we didn’t go on to create enough opportunities.

"But I was also disappointed in that, from a game we controlled and in the main had the majority of the ball, we allowed ourselves to give them quite easy chances against us."
