London: Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has said that the players have no excuse for their worst start to a season for 24 years.
According to the Mirror, reigning champions United will be bidding to avoid a third straight Premier League defeat for the first time in 12 years when they travel to Sunderland this weekend. Back-to-back defeats to neighbours Manchester City and at home to West Brom have piled the pressure on Sir Alex Ferguson`s successor David Moyes , the report said. Moyes saw his players take a step in the right direction with a creditable 1-1 draw away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday, the report added. Veteran midfielder Giggs, making a record-breaking 145th appearance in Europe`s elite competition, said United must now go on a sustained winning run and show just why they are the Premier League champions, the report further said. He also said that it had been a weird season as Manchester City had also been beaten twice. ANI
