Rooney wants new ‘big-cash’ deal from Fergie as proof of firm Man U future
London: Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is reportedly asking boss Sir Alex Ferguson for a new big-cash contract as a proof that he has a future in Old Trafford. This has come after reports surfaced that United is preparing a contingency plan should Rooney go, by targeting Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

Rooney is about to enter the final two years of a five-year contract, believed to be worth 220,000 pounds-a-week, which he signed in October 2010 and wants the club to begin negotiating a new agreement. However, sources close to Rooney have insisted that the striker is not interested in quitting Manchester United to join wealthy French side Paris Saint-Germain this summer as many reports have claimed, adding that Rooney would like to end his career with champions-elect United.

The sources further said that Rooney wants Ferguson to back up his words with actions after the Scot insisted last month that there is no issue over Rooney`s contract, saying that talks would start at an appropriate period. According to a report, Rooney’s uncertain future in United following his benching in the Real Madrid draw continues to plague him following Ferguson decision to replace him in the draw at West Ham even though United was chasing an equaliser.
