Manchester: It seems that David de Gea’s lackluster performances at Manchester United have prompted the club to look for his replacement.
According to a report in a UK daily, United are currently eyeing Michel Vorm of Swansea City as a short-term replacement for the goalkeeper.
“Clubs have enquired about Vorm. Manchester United have asked, in addition Chelsea and for that matter Newcastle United. Tottenham Hotspur have cautiously announced they are interested.” Metro quoted Swansea’s director John van Zweden as saying.
`It would be a nightmare for us if he left` he added.
David de Gea has failed to live up to his enormous price tag of 20 million pounds when the Spaniard was bought from Atletico Madrid.
On the other hand, Vorm has performed consistently in Swans` inaugural season in the Premier League after joining from Dutch club Utrecht in the summer.
United are facing a tough competition from big spending Manchester City this season and its list of injured players isn’t helping either.
