London: Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has reportedly said that he will stay in his club even if it fails to win the Champions League.

Bale, who has won the PFA Footballer of the Year award, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid , and even Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas had admitted last week that he felt a top-four finish was required to keep the Welsh wizard at White Hart Lane.

However, Bale has thrown hot water on these speculations by choosing to remain at the club even if it fails to make the Champions League.

According to Villas-Boas, although it is difficult to predict whether or not Bale would be staying, he has got the assurance for a positive result, adding that Bale is here to remain, independent of the objectives of Champions League qualification being achieved or not.

Villas-Boas further said that even though players like Bale will continue to get media attention as they win more awards and recognition, a club has to move forward by holding onto its best players like Bale.

Bale signed a four-year deal last summer and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is determined to hold onto his star, the report added.
