Manchester: Tom Cleverley is likely to return for Manchester United`s Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

United’s official website reported that the midfielder has been training this week after injuring his ankle in the home game against Ajax.

"I think Tom will be involved," United’s manager Alex Ferguson was quoted as saying by the website.

"Obviously the problem when you have players out for such a long time is when you can get them back into the fray.”

"For instance, Ando played for half an hour and it was a good half-hour for him as he`d not played for two months," he said

He also confirmed Chris Smalling could sit out of the fixture after opening up a head wound on Thursday.

"We`ll have to look at that issue and see what the problem is," he said.

"I imagine he`ll be doubtful for Sunday but I think everyone else is okay."
