London: Burnley made a double swoop for Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah and Hull winger George Boyd on Monday.
With the close of the transfer window just hours away, Burnley manager Sean Dyche bolstered his newly-promoted squad by paying a reported £3 million ($4.9 million) for Scotland international Boyd and also signed England Under-21 international Chalobah on a season-long loan.
Chalobah, 19, has come through the Chelsea youth ranks, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.
He captained Chelsea to FA Youth Cup victory in 2012 and has had loan spells at Championship clubs Watford, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
Boyd arrived at Burnley on a three-year deal after a year-and-a-half with Hull, who he helped win promotion from the Championship in 2012-13 after signing from Peterborough.
The 28-year-old featured intermittently in the Premier League last term, as well as coming off the bench in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.
"I think it is fair to say that I wasn`t going to be involved at Hull, and the opportunity to come here was just one I couldn`t turn down," Boyd told Sky Sports News.
"It is massive, especially at my age. I want to be playing every week."
