Cesc Fabregas continues to rub salt in Arsene Wenger's wounds

New Delhi: Majority of Arsenal fans were left baffled in the summer when manager Arsene Wenger refused to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona despite having a first buy option.

The Frenchman defended his decision citing the presence of Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere, who play in a similar position to Fabregas.

The Spaniard was eventually snapped up by Chelsea and the numbers suggest, Jose Mourinho's decision fetched rich dividends.

The moment Fabregas slipped into the blue of Chelsea, he has effortlessly orchestrated their midfield, and in the process and is currently the best midfielder in the Premier League.

After the conclusion of Gameweek 16, Cesc has accumulated 12 assists and found the back of the net on 2 occasions.

Along with Diego Costa, Fabregas has been the best buy of the Premier League and has so far been the cornerstone of Chelsea's successful start.

The 27-year-old was once again in fine form against Stoke as he set up one and scored another in his team's 2-0 win on Monday.

With Wishere out injured and Cazorla unable to make a big impact, Wenger is left to rue yet another missed opportunity that could have far-reaching implications on Gunners' season.
