New Delhi: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claimed that club legend Didier Drogba will end his career at Stamford Bridge.
The striker re-joined Chelsea at the start of the season after leaving Galatasaray. "The important thing is he is here and will finish his career with Chelsea," Mourinho said about the future of Ivory Coast player.
The 36-year-old scored at home against Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday and helped his club maintain a six-point lead over champions Manchester City at the end of 14 round. It was his fifth goal since returning from Turkey.
In his first spell in London, Drogba won 10 titles between 2004 and 2012, and scored 157 goals in 341 games.
Mourinho hailed Drogba as a fantastic human being. "It's remarkable. First of all, he's a team player. He's not selfish, not vain. He's a humble guy who plays for the team, fights for the team. He's fantastic,” the Portuguese added.
former Real Madrid boss also said that Drogba will have a role to play at Chelsea when he quits playing. "It looks, for me, that he's going to stay doing other things when he finishes his career,” Mourinho said.
