The Old Trafford fixture between a resurgent Manchester United and Champions League spot chasing Southampton will be a top-four clash. They are separated by a single point with Louis van Gaal's side on third spot with 37 points, a point and a position ahead of Ronald Koeman's Saints.

In the first leg, United escaped with a 2-1 win at St Mary's last month thanks to a Robin van Persie double. A win for United will consolidate their position as the third best team behind leaders Chelsea and champions Manchester City.

But for Southampton, it's all new territory. Having started the season on a rousing note, they have somehow lost ground following a spell of poor outings. But they have seemingly gained that form in recent fixtures and are once again in contention for a Champions League spot.

For Red Devils, van Persie will once again be the key player today. The Dutchman has scored seven goals in seven league games against the Saints. While Sadio Mane and new arrival Eljero Elia will be hope to prove the difference between winning and losing in such an important match.
