New Delhi: Tottenham Hotspur are keen to get in a star forward to help them stay in the hunt for challenging rivals in England's top half of the English Premier League, and they have targeted West Bromwich Albion's, Saido Berahino.
According to reports, Berahino will cost Spurs a whooping GBP 25 million and the latter are all set to get their hands on the England youth sensation in the upcoming January transfer window. Berahino has been in good form for West Brom and has scored seven goals for the Baggies this term in the EPL.
Spurs are eyeing a good youthful combination upfront with Saido Berahino partnering Harry Kane.
Spurs who are seventh in the table, have scored only 22 goals this term so far and the form of irregular forwards Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor have given manager Mauricio Pochettino an option to go in for a relative search in the market.
La Liga side Espanyol defender Hector Moreno, too is another key target for the club.
The manager is expected to be given sufficient funds to get some fresh players and it could be a crucial period for him. Even the sale of certain players to get much needed cash-influx lies handy.
The future of several players too are in doubts with reports suggesting that the club is willing to listen offers for less preferential Andres Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Paulinho and Vlad Chiriches. Even the fate of Adebayor and Soldado is hanging at the moment and some important offers could see the duo leave.
Spurs who beat Burnley 2-1 on Saturday, face struggling Leicester City on Boxing Day kick-off.
