New Delhi: Newly appointed West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis capped off his stint with the Baggies in a perfect fashion after seeing off Gateshead in the FA Cup third round. The victory will bring cheers for the West Brom fans who have seen their team struggling in the Premier League.

West Brom are currently lying 17th in the EPL table and are just one point above the relegation zone. After Alan Irvine was sacked last week after a string of failures, Pulis was assigned to take over the reins and has a daunting task ahead to help the side survive relegation.

Last season, Pulis pulled off some extra-ordinary results with former club Crystal Palace to avoid relegation, and the board officials at Hawthorns identify him as a fighter who could repeat the scenario once again.

The former Stoke City manager couldn't have asked for a better start as his side romped off against a small sized team. Although it is the Cup and upsets happen over and over again every season, Pulis must be pleased he avoided a similar story.

In his first game in-charge winning by a 7-0 margin will give boost to everyone involved in the team and this can kick-start West Brom's campaign in the Premier League from next weekend.

Youngster Saido Berahino impressed Pulis with his four-goal tally and the latter will be keen to get the most out of the future England hopeful.

West Brom face Steve Bruce's Hull City at home on 10th January in a Premier League encounter.
