New Delhi: Juventus' Arturo Vidal, has been Manchester United's muse all summer and it looks like the highly rated midfielder could join Louis van Gaal's side before the transfer window shuts on Monday. After signing Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria for a record British transfer fee of GBP 59.7million, United have begun serious talks with Vidal for a possible move to Old Trafford.

United rate him at GBP 30million and chief executive Ed Woodward has made the Chile international their prime target. United could offer Javier Hernandez on loan to Juventus to sweeten the deal as the Old Trafford officials are positive in getting the transfer done.

Several factors defined the Vidal saga all summer with Louis van Gaal not sure about his injury condition. Vidal had undergone a knee surgery before the World Cup, and United wanted him to go through a medical before signing a deal.

Juventus are adamant of not selling their star asset with coach Massimiliano Allegri stating that Vidal will stay at the club and he is happy there. The midfielder also didn't show any increased desire of leaving Italy for England after citing in July that he would be fine if the move collapses. Earlier, Juve president, Andrea Agnelli, also poured water to United's interest after saying the midfielder isn't for sale.

The 27-year-old's dynamism would be a welcome addition to United's much-maligned midfield - as the club's misfortunes continued with a 4-0 defeat by League One outfit MK Dons in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

United are also planning a bid for Netherlands' versatile defender, Daley Blind. The Ajax left back can play in a holding midfield role too and already having played under Van Gall in the World Cup, Blind could re-unite with the Dutchman once again.

This week, Blind's agent had stated that United are yet to table a bid but now the English giants look set to bolster their squad before Monday and an offer is being prepared.

If United were to sign Vidal and Blind, it would take their spending past GBP 175m this summer. It would be a record transfer window for the club.
